Property Description
Tucson's original resort sits high in the Santa Catalina foothills overlooking the city. Set on 80 acres of lush Sonoran desert, Westward Look Resorts offers on site horseback riding, tennis, swimming, hiking trails and a full service spa with desert inspired treatments. The Mobil Four Star Gold Room features the culinary artistry of Chef Chris Pederson, accented with chili, herbs and produce fresh from the Chef's garden. The Lookout Bar and Grille offers more casual fare, plus live music on the weekend. The resort has 244 suite sized accommodations, each with a private balcony or patio and spectacular views. The decor is a casually elegant blend of the Spanish colonial, Mexican and Native American influences that are part of this area's rich cultural history. The resort grew around a 1912 homestead estate built just six months after Arizona became a state.

    Restaurant Information
Restaurants  The Lookout Bar and Grille: Enjoy sensational Sonoran specialties and American grill favorites in a casual setting overlooking Tucson's city lights with live weekend entertainment. For over 20 years, The Gold Room has been acclaimed as one of the city's finest dining rooms. Rated as one of "Tucson's Top 4" restaurants by Arizona Business Magazine and recipient of the Silver Spoon Award, the Gold Room menus offer something for everyone from classical dishes to bold, Southwestern creations. Seasonal menus feature the freshest available ingredients complemented by vegetables, chiles and herbs grown in the chef's on-site garden plus a variety of wild foods - from prickly pears to pomegranates - that grow on the resort's grounds. A passion for fresh, home-grown foods inspired Executive Chef Chris Pederson to invent his award-winning New American Sonoran cuisine - a creative fusion of European and Sonoran preparations highlighting Arizona's indigenous foods. Savor traditional favorites such as Rosemary-Crusted Rack of Lamb or regional specialties such as Mesquite-Grilled Buffalo and - if your palate leans toward the adventurous - red chile battered Rattlesnake Fritters. Innovative dishes, an exceptional wine list and breathtaking views all combine to make the Gold Room a one of a kind dining experience. Chef Pederson's creations have received the highest ratings including the James Beard Foundation's "Best Hotel Chefs of America" recognition. He recently received the American Culinary Federation's Chef's Association of Southern Arizona "Rising Star Chef of the Year" Award.
