| On one hand, the “City of Angels” is one of Southeastern Asia’s jewels, with highly efficient mass transit, bustling markets, high-end department stores in Siam Square, and possibly the best accommodations anywhere in Asia. But crowded streets (10 million residents alone), horrific traffic, and severe pollution are major problems in Bangkok. Still, Thailand’s capital is spectacular, especially at Rattanakosin, where the much-admired temples of Wat Po and Wat Phra Kaeo are shadowed by the majestic Grand Palace. |
