Dubai is a glitzy playground for the rich and famous — or at least those who want a taste of that lifestyle. It’s easy to see why, too. Dubai is one of those cities that takes “extreme” to the next level. Tallest building in the world? Done. World’s biggest shopping mall? Of course. World's first 3D printed building? Yep. Largest indoor theme park on the planet? Nailed it. So it should come as no surprise that it’s now also home to the largest inflatable water park in the world. The neon blue and pink slides of Aqua Fun have been making the rounds on social media lately, but the attraction is much more than just a kitschy photo opp. Located just off the shore of Jumeirah Beach Residence and within easy walking distance of the luxurious Fairmont Dubai hotel, here’s why you absolutely should check it out.

Work Hard, Play Harder

Like just about everything else in Dubai, the inflatable water park is enormous. 74 different water elements are spread over 2,700-square-meters of sparkling blue sea, providing almost 30,000 feet of play space. It’s large enough to hold 350 people at a time (including seven on-duty lifeguards) and promises to help burn up to 800 calories an hour — talk about a fun workout!

Instagram Worthy

Aqua Fun claims it's the best spot to take a selfie. It's hard to prove them wrong, too, as it's surrounded on all sides by the city's huge skyline. As if that wasn't cool enough, the maze of slides, rafts, and tubes actually spells out “Dubai.” While you can’t make out the logo from the water itself, you can catch a glimpse from the shore, air, or even your hotel room balcony.

Play All Day

Passes to the park are available for adults and children six and older on the beachfront. The cheaper ticket lets guests spend as long as they want on the obstacle course on one condition: they can't return to shore and must stay on the floats and in the water. You can also splurge on the unlimited day pass, which allows you to go back and forth from the shore to the park as many times as you wish. Once you've worked up a sweat, retreat to your lounger at the Fairmont Dubai and enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing with an umbrella drink in hand.
