St Dominic's Fair

Poland’s largest open-air cultural event is also one of the oldest in the world, having been started by papal decree back in 1260. In the 21st century the annual fair draws about 150,000 visitors a day over two weeks in the peak tourist season, when a variety of events take place in historic Gdansk. The program includes a brass band festival, street theater performances, children’s entertainment, art displays, rock concerts, chamber music, sports events and fireworks. In addition traders, antique dealers, artists and crafters set up hundreds of stalls to sell their wares in the streets of the Old Town.
