The town of Sighiºoara hosts the Sighiºoara Medieval Festival in summer each year. Sighiºoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, or Dracula, is transformed into a medieval town as townspeople and visitors don Middle-Age garments and take part in dance competitions, night concerts and clambakes. The festival is the largest medieval festival in Romania and includes aspects such as a Troubadours Square, Knights Court, Blacksmith Tower, Court Fortress, Pilgrims Market and Witches Court.
