The Golden Horse Film Festival is a place where film-lovers and film-makers come together to celebrate Chinese film. The awards ceremony has been held every year in Taipei since 1962 and is modeled after the Academy Awards and other major film festivals across the globe. And the awards are contested by Chinese-language submissions from Taiwan, Hong Kong, the People’s Republic of China and a few other countries.
