Passport valid for six months beyond the date of departure from Samoa required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Visas
Not required by nationals referred to in the chart above except:
1. nationals of the USA who should apply for a single- or multiple-entry residence permit before arrival. US Nationals ordinarily resident in American Samoa who wish to visit Samoa must obtain a 30 day single-entry permit or a multiple-entry permit.

Visa Note
2. Nationals visiting Samoa as a tourist,  will be issued with a free 60-day visa on arrival provided they hold confirmed onward tickets, a valid passport and proof of sufficient funds to support the stay. For longer stays, visas should be obtained before arrival or visa extensions can be applied for in Apia; contact the nearest Samoan Embassy or High Commission or the Immigration Division of the Prime Minister's Department in Apia (PO Box L1861) for further information (see General Info).

Business: St$600 (before arrival); St$1,200 (on arrival).

Warning
Most visits to Samoa are trouble-free but incidents of petty theft are fairly common.

Travelers should avoid driving out of built up areas at night.

Serious crime is low and most visits to Samoa are trouble-free. You should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate international terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.

The tropical storm season in Samoa normally runs from November to April.

Health Care
Health insurance, while recommended, is not mandatory. All health services available to locals are accessible to foreigners usually at minimal cost to the traveller. Emergency medical facilities are available at Moto’otua Hospital, in Apia. Private medical and dental treatment is also available.

* A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travelers over one year of age arriving from an infected area.
