Health CareThere is a reciprocal health agreement with the UK. On presentation of proof of residence in the UK (NHS card, driving license, etc), those under 16 or over 65 receive all medical and dental treatment free of charge. Other UK residents are entitled to free treatment as follows: on
Grand Turk, dental treatment, prescribed medicines and ambulance travel; on the
outer islands, medical treatment at Government clinics and prescribed medicines. There are community clinics on all islands. There is a small hospital on Grand Turk and a number of private practitioners, and also an emergency care facility.
Note1A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travelers over one year of age arriving from infected areas.
2A small risk of typhoid exists in rural areas.
