9/21/2007 - 9/25/2007International Ko-Lae Boat Race
Narathiwat,
Thailand
Each year, traditional Ko-Lae fishing boats typically used by the Malay communities of Southern Thailand take to the water for a series of racing events. In addition to the aquatic entertainment, there are plenty of attractions on dry land including an arts and crafts market and numerous food and drink stalls. First held in 1976 to celebrate the Thai Royal Family's visit to the province, the races have been a popular annual fixture ever since
