This festival marks Khao Phansa or the Buddhist Lent and features a spectacular procession of huge and ornately-carved wax candles made by local craftsmen. During the festival, displays and cultural presentations offer insights into local traditions and beliefs of this deeply religious nation. Representatives from countries known for their master candle craftsmanship will compete to create masterpieces which will go on display to the public. Visitors can learn more about the intricate creation process at numerous candle making demonstrations and exhibitions taking place during the event
