Held on the island Skeppsholmen in the heart of downtown Stockholm, the annual Stockholm Jazz Festival presents an eclectic programme of artists from all over the world. The first Stockholm Jazz Festival was held in 1980 and each year the event attracts some of the biggest names in jazz music. Past performers have included such names as Dizzy Gillespie, Pharaoh Sanders, Count Basie Big Band, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Stan Getz, Astrud Gilberto, Van Morrisson and BB King.
