The Stockholm Pride is the largest gay and lesbian event in Scandinavia and each year attracts thousands of revellers of all persuasions for the week-long celebrations, which take place on the largest of the city's islands, Sodermalm. During the pride, the entire island turns itself over to the event with many of the streets and shops bedecked with rainbow flags and decorations. Many of the events take place at the Pride Park where there is a stage, stalls, food and drink vendors and other entertainment. Numerous other events, ranging from political debates to film screenings, take place at various venues outside of the Pride Park
