Taking place in Stockholm's historic Old Town, the annual Stockholm Early Music Festival presents a musical programme that includes a mix of international stars as well as young and emerging talent. The event was first held in 2002 and has already established itself as a favourite among fans of early musical styles including pieces from the middle ages, renaissance and baroque periods. The festival includes three series: evening concerts in the German Church, afternoon concerts in the Finnish Church and lunch-time concerts in the Royal Coin Cabinet. There are also a number of seminars and events for children.
