First held in 2005, the World Spice Festival is an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to sample a range of different cuisines representing all corners of the globe. Drawing on a fusion of Sri Lankan spices and cooking methods with those of the visiting chefs, visitors are sure to be in for mouth-watering concoctions. Events take place in various restaurants and hotels throughout the city during this week-long event. There is also a spice bazaar held on the banks of the Beira Lake each evening.
