Valencia has been chosen as the host for the final stage of the 32nd America's Cup, a four-year schedule of regattas that began in 2004 with the final race to be completed in 2007. The rejuvenated port area is the centre of operations, with a dedicated village, and berthing for the competing teams. The regattas are divided into separate Acts, with numbers 10, 11 and 12 to take place in the waters of Valencia. In 2007, the final Act will commence with an opening Fleet race, for all the competitors. Afterwards, the Challengers will square off in the Louis Vuitton Cup, to determine who will race Team Alinghi (the Swiss team assured its place with victories in the early stages) in the 32nd America's Cup finals
