Back in 1979, Torremolinos invented the Day of the Tourist, an example which has been followed in many tourist towns throughout the world. The idea is to pay tribute to the millions of tourists who have made Torremolinos what it is today. The date also coincides with the end of the resort's high season. The treats lined up for the day include paella tastings, a horse riding spectacular, live entertainment and numerous stalls and food and drink vendors
