Mallorca,
Spain
Taking place in various towns across the island, the Fiesta of Sant Sebastia celebrates the patron saint of the city. Believed to have been Diocletian's escort, Sant Sebastia is thought to have protected the city against the plague. The fiesta is one of the biggest cultural events on the island, with many of the towns holding some kind of celebration for which the town square is turned into a performance venue for live music and dancing.
