The Kremlin Cup is Russia's biggest tennis tournament and, with US$2.5 million in prize money on offer, by far its richest. It is an indoor tournament played on six courts before 15,000 spectators at Moscow's Olympic Stadium. There are 32 players in the singles competition and 16 pairs in the doubles and the event attracts many of the top players on the circuit. The qualifying draw is played on days one and two, with tension building for the bigger matches thereafter. Hundreds of great players have played in this prestigious tournament since it was first held in Moscow in 1990.
