Jazz at the Hermitage Garden is the Russian capital's only outdoor jazz event. It has been held at the Hermitage Garden in downtown Moscow during the last week of August since 1998. It features both visiting European and American acts as well as Russian groups in this informal, laid-back setting. It also includes promising young acts, which makes this festival a good place to discover the country's next best things. Hermitage Garden is a pleasant park in the centre of Moscow with a few restaurants, a Chinese tearoom, the Novaya Opera theatre and an ice-skating rink during the winter.
