Note: EU nationals are only required to produce evidence of their EU nationality and identity in order to be admitted to any EU member state. This evidence can take the form of a valid national passport
or national identity card. Either is acceptable. Possession of a return ticket, any length of validity on their document, sufficient funds for the length of their proposed visit should
not be imposed.

There have been a number of Hepatitis A cases in Romania. Travelers are advised to seek medical advice about inoculations before traveling and to drink only bottled water.

Health CareMedical facilities in Romania are poor and there is a serious shortage of basic medical supplies and qualified personnel. European travelers carrying the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) are entitled to free or reduced cost medical care. Nationals of countries who do not have a reciprocal health agreement with Romania are expected to pay immediate cash for health services. Health insurance is strongly advised.
