Since it was established in 2000, the Qatar Marine Sport Federation (QMSF) has done a remarkable job in raising the profile of sports power boating in the state of Qatar. One of the most popular categories is the Class-1 Offshore Powerboat Racing and each year Qatar hosts a series of competitions which attracts the biggest names in the sport from around the world.
