Cooking and music are the main themes of this waterfront festival. Seafood chowder, freshly steamed mussels and clams, oysters and quahogs are all on the menu, with full bar service available. Maritime music plays all the while, as celebrity chefs impress their audience and champion shell shuckers wow the crowds in the various shucking competitions. Shellfish novices learn about the many tasty crustaceans, and others can improve on their existing knowledge at seminars and tasting sessions. The culinary delights of the chefs and students of The Culinary Institute of Canada are on offer, during daily interactive shellfish culinary demos. 'The World is Your Oyster' is the place to entertain children - free of charge.
