This popular music and firework fair has grown from modest beginnings to a major regional event attracting over 70,000 people. Over a long weekend a succession of local and regional rock and pop musicians entertain the crowds at the Charlottestown waterfront. A recent addition to the festival is the Outdoor Afternoon Extravaganza with an Idol competition. The Concert for Canada is a free event featuring the best of the East Coast talent. Buskers, a children's village, a funfair and amusement park are among the attractions, and the festival closes with the largest fireworks display in Atlantic Canada over Charlottetown Harbour.
