1/01/2009 - 12/31/2009Feira da Ladra
Lisbon,
Portugal
Taking place every Tuesday and Saturday in Lisbon's Alfama district, this open-air street market is a great place to experience the hustle, bustle and haggling of the day's trading. Translating as 'Thieves Market', it sells everything from old books and second-hand computers to handmade cloths and Portuguese food specialities. It is often said that to get the best bargains you need to get there early, but many people simply go down to browse through the bric-a-brac on show at many of the stalls.
