    International Travel:

    Main Airports
    Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) (website: www.cvgairport.com) is 19km (12 miles) southwest of the city center (journey time - 15 minutes). To/from the airport: TANK public buses (website: www.tankbus.org) run between the airport and downtown Cincinnati and Covington daily (journey time - 30 minutes); buses stop outside Terminals 1 and 3. Airport Executive Shuttle buses serve the
    city center and the Kentucky side of the river; drop-offs at various points en route can be arranged. Taxis are also available. Facilities: ATMs, business services and car hire.

    Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) (website: www.clevelandairport.com) is 18km (10 miles) southwest of the city center (journey time - 20 minutes). To/from the airport: The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) offers a rapid transit service between the airport and Tower City Center (journey time - 20 minutes), where connections to other bus and rail services are available. Taxis are available. Facilities: ATMs, business services and car hire.

    Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) (website: www.port-columbus.com) is located 11km (7 miles) northeast of downtown Columbus. To/from the airport: Taxis and shuttle buses to the city center are available, as is the Capital City Flyer bus.

    Getting There by Water
    There are over 1,600km (1,000 miles) of canals in Ohio and there are many canal boat excursions available.

    Getting There by Rail
    A number of Amtrak (tel: 1 800 872 7245, in the USA only; website: www.amtrak.com) services run west-east across the state, starting from Chicago. A parallel line from Chicago to Pittsburgh passes through Akron daily. Ohio also offers a number of scenic railway excursions run by private operators, often on historic trains.

    Getting There by Road
    Bus: Greyhound (tel: 1 800 231 2222, in the USA only; website: www.greyhound.com) offers services throughout the state.

    Approximate bus journey times:
    From Cincinnati to Louisville is 2 hours, to Indianapolis is 2 hours 30 minutes, and to New York is 15 hours. From Cleveland to Pittsburgh is 3 hours, to Detroit is 4 hours, and to Washington, DC is 9 hours. From Columbus to Cleveland is 3 hours and to St Louis is 9 hours.

    Getting Around Towns and Cities
    The Cincinnati bus system offers services throughout Hamilton County and portions of Clermont County. In addition to numerous bus routes, Cleveland’s Regional Transit Authority has three rapid-transit lines that meet at downtown’s Tower City Center Station. Taxis are available in the major cities.
