Lunenburg is one of the prettiest fishing towns in Nova Scotia and a fitting place to stage a Fishermen's Picnic and Reunion. The event features traditional skills such as scallop shucking, fish filleting, net mending, ring linking and wire splicing. Also in the programme are the Queen of the Sea contest and seminars relating to the fishing industry. Top of the bill are the International Dory Races in the harbour with elimination races held on the Saturday of the Folk Harbour Festival.
