Norway
Horses have been put through their paces every October since 1991 at the Oslo Horse Show, part of the Western European League in show jumping. With some of the best riders in the world and the top riders from Norway competing, the show attracts the media as well as spectators - nearly 20,000 of them, filling the stadium to capacity for the three days of the show. As well as being a World Cup qualifying event, the Oslo Horse Show hosts the finals for various national cups. Dressage and the Grand Prix Kur are among the highlights but there is varied entertainment besides. In past years, the Queen's Household Cavalry and Cossacks from the Ukraine have appeared on the bill, as well as dance performances and riding displays.
