Since 1994 this has been an important event on the musical calendar of Norway's capital. Formerly the Ole Blues Bergen Music Festival, the organisers continue to book quality acts from home and abroad and stage them at venues throughout the city. More than 20,000 people attend over the 10 days, with concerts ranging from authentic American blues and R&B to cajun, rock and folk. World Music also finds a place in the diverse programme. Previous performers have included Lou Reed, Femi Kouti and Juan Marcos & the Afro-Cuban All-Stars.
