www.amtrak.com) routes pass through the State, including a daily New York–Miami (via Orlando). The ‘Piedmont’ provides a passenger train service from Raleigh to Charlotte. The station in Raleigh is located at 320 West Cabarrus Street, while the Charlotte station can be found at 1914 North Tryon Street.
Getting There by RoadNorth Carolina has a good road network of highways and scenic byways allowing easy access to all parts of the State.
Interstate 40 is the major east–west artery, crossing the State from Wilmington on the Atlantic Coast to the Great Smoky Mountains, via Raleigh, Durham and Winston-Salem. A State-wide system of designated Bicycling Highways covers 4830km (3000 miles) of roads. There are many bus companies serving the area, including
