3/21/2008 - 3/23/2008Warbirds Over Wanaka International Air Show
Wanaka,
New Zealand
Above the peaks of the Southern Alps, the likes of Spitfire, Tiger Moth and more modern aircraft wheel and climb in the spectacular "Warbirds Over Wanaka" International Air Show, the most exciting warbirds show in the southern hemisphere. The skies above Lake Wanaka see a succession of famous warplanes from the past and the present, joining forces in an aerial extravaganza. Helicopters, aerobatic displays, Air Force and civil aircraft, transport aircraft and pyrotechnics all form part of the show. Meanwhile, on the tarmac, static displays of military equipment and vehicles, vintage machinery and classic fire engines provide further fascinating attractions, and the aviation trade expo is full of gadgets for the expert and the casual visitor alike. Mock battles and attacks form the climax to a memorable show on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons
