Walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders are offered the opportunity to participate in the Great New Zealand Trek, a journey along the length of the country completed in segments year by year with Stage One being completed in 2006. Subsequent years pick up where the previous one left off. Participants have the benefit of a high level of support, including catering (three meals per day), marked routes with marshals, luggage transport from site to site, hot showers and clean toilets, secure campsites, medical support, full bicycle and equestrian support, an entertainment programme and trek shop, bar and cafe. This is a great way to get to know the country and the people, and also to raise money for the nominated charity
