Marlborough is the famous wine district at the top end of South Island, and Blenheim is the town at its heart. Held in tented showgrounds, the festival is New Zealand's premier wine and food event, showcasing the highly acclaimed wines of the region. Over 200 wines from 40 wineries are on show, and there are culinary delights and regional specialities here too, the work of renowned New Zealand chefs. Wine buffs can meet with some of New Zealand's leading winemakers and attend tutorials to learn some of the secrets of the trade. A line-up of top New Zealand performers keeps visitors entertained throughout a most rewarding day
