    Main Airports
    Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) (website: www.bwiairport.com) is 16km (10 miles) south of Baltimore and 40km (25 miles) northeast of Washington, DC. To/from the airport: MTA light-rail services depart to Baltimore (journey time - approximately 25 minutes), while airport shuttles also run (journey time - 30 minutes). MARC commuter trains run between Washington, DC, and Baltimore Pennsylvania
    Station via the airport. Fast and frequent shuttle buses and rail services are also available to Washington, DC. Taxis and limousines are also available. Facilities: Bank, car hire and post office.

    Getting There by Rail
    Baltimore is on the main East Coast Amtrak line (tel: 1 800 872 7245, in the USA only; website: www.amtrak.com) and consequently receives frequent direct services from as far afield as New Orleans and Miami. There are also frequent shuttles to Washington, DC, New York and Boston. For approximate journey times on this line, see the New York section. Trains arrive at Pennsylvania Station, 1525 North Charles Street.

    Getting There by Road
    Greyhound (tel: 1 800 229 9424, in the USA only; website: www.greyhound.com) buses stop at the Greyhound Bus Station, 2110 Haines Street, in downtown Baltimore.

    Approximate driving times: From Baltimore to Washington, DC is 50 minutes, to Miami is 23 hours and to Los Angeles is 56 hours. All times are based on non-stop driving at or below the applicable speed limits.

    Getting Around Towns and Cities
    The entire Baltimore metropolitan area is covered by the Maryland Transit Administration (website: www.mtamaryland.com), which runs buses, light rail, the metro, and MARC, the commuter railway between Baltimore and Washington DC. Schedules run around the clock.

    Water taxis provide regular cross-harbor services, including a route between the National Aquarium and Fell’s Point.

    Taxis
    can be hailed easily on the street in major tourism areas, and in front of major hotels, or ordered by phone. Cars and motorhomes can be hired.
