WarningMost visits to Martinique are trouble-free but you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate international terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.
The hurricane season in Martinique normally runs from June to November. Occasional earth tremors also occur. A strong earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter Scale occurred off the northwest coast of Martinique on 29 November. A small number of people were injured and some limited damage to the island’s infrastructure occurred.

Health CareA reciprocal health agreement exists between France and the UK. However, the benefits which go with this agreement may not be fully available in Martinique. Check with your doctor before departure. Martinique has 18 hospitals and several specialists and clinics.
