9/02/2009 - 11/30/2009Ravello Classical Music Festival
Ravello,
Italy
A two-month long music and art event, this event is also known as the Amalfi Coast Chamber Orchestra Festival. The concerts take place in the Ravello villa that inspired Wagner's "Parsifal", and also at a convent in the nearby seaside village of Conca dei Marini. The main venue includes a suspended stage, built around the gardens of the villa and hanging above a cliff 350m (1,150ft) above the sea. A full musical teaching programme runs in parallel with a series of concerts. Top artists and musicians are attracted here, where the music is rivalled in excellence only by the location - the stunning landscape of the famous Amalfi Coast
