    5/01/2009 - 6/30/2009Dublin Maritime Festival

    Dublin, Ireland
This fun festival brings further bustle to this already lively quarter of the city in celebration of its rich maritime history. The festival opens with a fleet of spectacular Tall Ships that enter the harbour area to the rapturous applause from the crowds of onlookers. A replica of the 'Jeanie Johnston' famine ship provides a historical reference point and will take passengers on cruises around Dublin Bay offering visitors a different perspective of this picturesque city. In addition to the traditional ships, modern day vessels will also be joining the celebrations operating their usual routes across the harbour. For those without their sea legs, there are plenty of attractions on terra firma including market stalls, music, children's entertainment and exhibitions of traditional Irish art.
