Few players can have experienced the sheer wonder of playing golf under the midnight sun in Iceland's Arctic Open. Hosted at the high altitude Akureyri Golf Club, the tournament takes place in mid-summer during 24 hours of daylight when through night and day, the sun barely dips below the horizon. The international event attracts golfers from around the world eager to be a part of this surreal experience. Situated 65 49' north of the equator, the Akureyri Golf Club is famed for being the most northerly course in the world. The Arctic Open Golf Championship has been attracting players every year since the inaugural event in 1986.
