Not for the faint-hearted, this Super Marathon begins in Vienna, Austria and ends in Budapest, Hungary taking in the towns of Sopron, Gyor, Tata and Budakeszi along the way. Unrivalled in Europe, this gruelling marathon takes participants on a course totalling 350km (218 miles) between the two capital cities. Thankfully, participants can opt to run just one of the sections of the race, but each year a handful of super athletes run all five in what must be one of the toughest road races in the world. Each section is unique, taking in very different scenery and terrain. But each section enjoys good support from crowds urging the runners on.
