Introduced in 2001 as a means of reviving kite making and kite flying in the region, this annual event is popular with visitors and locals alike and boasts a great community atmosphere. Held on Easter Monday, the event takes place on the Belmont Estate - an old plantation that dates back to the 1600s. There are plenty of prizes up for grabs for the best kites as well as food and drink stalls, cultural displays, live music and children's games.
