The Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour puts the spotlight on historical homes in Marietta's five National Register Historic Districts. These homes are lovingly restored and filled with antique collections and Christmas charm, and visitors get a sense of what celebrating Christmas was like in days gone by. Marietta's historic public buildings, turn-of-the-century square, and quaint shops are decked out in holiday finery. There are day tours and tours by candlelight, the latter featuring fewer houses. Finally, for those who haven't bought all their Christmas presents yet, there is candlelight shopping on the Historic Marietta Square where Santa Claus, carol singers, carriage rides and luminaries are featured.
