Magical Nights of Lights on Lake Lanier Islands in Georgia is a fantastic festive tradition that sees visitors drive along a 10km (6 miles) route passing incredible light displays and illuminations. There is also a Santa's Grotto, food stalls, bonfire, nativity scene, market area and ice skating rink.

Getting there:
Road: Lake Lanier Islands is 45 minutes northeast of downtown Atlanta. Take I-85 north to I-985 north to Exit 8 (Friendship Road), turn left on Friendship Road which turns in to Holiday Road and will end at the gates of Lake Lanier Islands.
