Since 1995 Honfleur has staged a festival of Russian and French films, an event which now attracts some 7,000 visitors each year. A selection of the year's Russian films is screened in the presence of invited producers and actors. Between six and eight of them go before a distinguished jury to decide the winner of the main prize. Russian film classics, war movies, documentaries, short films and animations are also screened, in the non-competetive part of the programme.
