5/07/2008 - 5/11/2008Nimes Pentecost Festival
Nimes,
France
The Iberian influence and lively atmosphere of the Nimes Pentecost Festival has gained notoriety throughout Western Europe. Famed for its bullfights and bull runs through the city streets, the event has a certain amount of risk that attracts thrill seekers from right across Europe. For those that want to avoid the rush of the bullfighting, there is a strong emphasis on feasting and drinking with plenty of Spanish influences to tantalise the taste buds. The whole city takes part in the celebrations with live music and events taking place in many of Nimes' bars, clubs and restaurants. Held each year to celebrate Pentecost, this is one of the most important festivals in Nimes that attracts thousands of visitors who come here to take part in this colourful celebration.
