    Health Care
Comprehensive medical insurance, including emergency repatriation, is strongly advised.

    Note
    1
Equatorial Guinea is listed as one of the countries in the endemic zone and a yellow fever vaccination should be considered. You should also note that most countries require a yellow fever vaccination certificate from travelers one year of age and older coming from infected areas.

    2
Following WHO guidelines issued in 1973, a cholera vaccination certificate is no longer a condition of entry to Equatorial Guinea. However, cholera is a serious risk in this country and precautions are essential. Up-to-date advice should be sought before deciding whether these precautions should include vaccination as medical opinion is divided over its effectiveness.

    3
Immunization against typhoid and poliomyelitis is advised.

    4
Malaria risk, predominantly in the malignant falciparum form, exists all year throughout the country. Resistance to chloroquine has been reported.
