This prestigious competition attracts outstanding entries from some of the best young press and reportage photographers in Britain. Each year, an exhibition of the winning and highly commended images goes on display at the intimate Guardian and Observer Archive and Visitor Centre on Farringdon Road. The competition was set up to commemorate the photojournalist David Hodge who was killed whilst covering the 1985 Brixton Riots. The competition is open to photographers under 30 and always produces thought-provoking and challenging pieces
