    Required by all nationals referred to in the chart above except transit passengers not disembarking and continuing their journey by the same aircraft or ship.

    Types of Visa and Cost
    Entry (visa de séjour); Tourist (visa de tourisme); Business (visa d’affaires); Transit (visa de transit). All visas cost between £40-41, depending on the exchange rate.

    Validity
    Visas from the French embassy in Paris are valid for between one and 10 days; visas can be extended once in Djibouti.

    Applications to:
    The embassy in Paris (see General Info). 10-day transit visas can be issued at the point of entry to visitors holding confirmed return air tickets. A fee will be charged. This facility is only available to nationals from countries where Djibouti has no diplomatic representation. Contact the embassy in Paris for further information.

    Working Days Required
    Three working days but the embassy advises getting your visa at least one month in advance of travel to Djibouti.

    Warning
    Travelers should be aware of the threat from terrorism. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by foreigners.

    Visitors should be aware of the risk of banditry if traveling outside the capital city.
