The Copenhagen Jazz Festival is a world-renowned event that hosts over 600 performances by artists from all over the world during its 10-day run. Many performances are given in the city's most historic streets and squares and along the banks of the canals. Copenhagen's clubs and cafes join the party spirit, hosting a varied programme ranging from traditional New Orleans jazz and swing to more contemporary, experimental styles. Giant Jazz, one of the main events of the festival, is held in the Old Circus Building close to the city centre. Performances at the beautiful Tivoli Gardens are also popular and attract large crowds. With its mix of internationally-acclaimed musicians, new talent, street performers and children's music workshops, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival is popular, family-friendly and rightfully attracts over 100,000 visitors each year.
