Runners from across the world travel to Copenhagen to participate in the city's annual marathon race. The race begins and ends by the picturesque waterfront location of the Royal Library ('The Black Diamond'), a popular viewing point where the many spectators and fans congregate. Runners race on a traffic-free course that can be split into three laps with each circuit passing some of Copenhagen's best-loved landmarks where bands and street entertainers entertain the crowds whilst participants get on with the serious business of the race.
