The giant Christmas Tree on the Old Town Square sets a spectacular festive scene, draped in lights against a backdrop of gothic buildings. Christmas in Prague is exceptional. The seasonal markets (Vanocni trh) consist of rows of brightly decorated wooden kiosks, well stocked with Czech handicrafts such as glassware, wooden toys, scented candles, Christmas tree ornaments, hand-made jewellery and puppets. Hot food and drinks are sold, adding a touch of warmth to the winter scene. There is plenty to see and do for all the family in this winter wonderland, including a mini zoo, a Nativity scene, and choirs and musical ensembles from home and abroad.
