Culture comes to the resort of Ayia Napa in the form of a popular festival of music, dance and folklore. Holidaymakers are given the opportunity to witness some of the traditions in music and folk art, in this well-established and eagerly-awaited event. Theatrical performances, concerts and folk dancing by Cypriot and foreign troupes are all on the agenda, which changes slightly each year but maintains the same spirit of warm-hearted hospitality. Painting and photography exhibitions, agricultural produce and stalls with traditional folk art are also on hand. The setting, a square at a Venetian-style monastery, is one of the more charming quarters of the town. This is also the scene of folk singing and dancing performances, held early on Sunday evenings right through the tourist season
